Odds of Cameron quitting cut from 16/1 to 8/1

With the odds of a YES victory now just 7/4, we’ve seen a number of people backing David Cameron to be replaced as PM this year. The odds have halved from 16/1 to 8/1 overnight.

I don’t think it’s very likely, but Iain Dale is speculating that even if he doesn’t resign, there may be enough Tory MPs who want rid of him to force a leadership election. Yesterday’s Ashcroft poll showing the Tories on 28% won’t have helped either.

Meanwhile, we’ve also opened a book on whether Alex Salmond will quit as First Minister within 48 hours of the result – that’s a 6/1 chance. I suppose if NO won very decisively, he might consider it.
