The idea of a Grand Coalition has been getting a bit of traction recently and the odds on that being the outcome of the next election have been cut from 50/1 to 25/1 in the last week.
Outside of some sort of national emergency, this seems a pretty implausible idea for many, many reasons.
@alexmassie They should switch away from the Germanic “Grand Coalition” to the more accurate “Mutual Suicide Pact”

Just for starters, imagine the massive boost any such arrangement would give to UKIP. Also, I dread to think what would happen to Labour in the 2016 Holyrood elections – in fact this would probably hasten the end of the UK rather than achieving what Lord Baker et al are hoping might result. So, I wouldn’t touch 25/1 myself, although plenty of punters seem happy to invest.
